I understand that this may be a little soon, but.

Does anyone know how this list works?

Did Papaw have a plan B or a successor ?

I would hate to see all his work and knowledge on this list disappear, it's been a source of wisdom for years and I think many of us would miss it greatly.

Any thoughts?

I honestly don't know, but like you, would hate to see it fade away.  :undecided:

I too would hate to see it fade away.  Noel did a great job in building it and then rebuilding it after the great crash.  No matter what- it won't be the same without him.

Hello everyone, I'm Noel's son Patrick. I wanted to log on to let you all know how thankful we are of your kind words, and for your friendships with my Pop over the years.

I want to assure you that this forum will continue to live on. I will be making arrangements later this week to take over Pop's web hosting and register it in my name so that everyone can continue to enjoy the forum.

Thanks again, for everything,
Patrick
Somehow there's always someone who can do things thought impossible, simply because they do not realize that they should be incapable of the achievement.

Thanks Patrick: So sorry for your loss, we all have a big lump in our throats over this.

And , we all appreciate you doing this.

Please tell us when you need money to pay the overhead, many of us will be happy to help

Well said Skip.  I could not say anything better.  I am certain all of us feel the same.  Thank you very much Patrick and let us know if you need any help financial or otherwise.

I wasn't big time here but visited twice everyday.  Skip couldn't have relayed my feelings any better. Thank you Patrick, Skip.

And I'm proud to be an American,

who gave that right to me.

Thanks Patrick---It is a great relief to know all that Noel accomplished on this site will not be lost.

Thanks Patrick, we all appreciate you taking over.  There are a few things that your Dad did that I thought helped make the board a success.  I hope you will continue them.

1.  He had a no politics rule.  He said there were plenty of other places on the internet to discuss politics.  I think it helped this site be a lot more civil than some others I have seen.  It also helped the board to stay focused on it's primary purpose, a forum for tool collectors and users.

2.  He was quick to recognize and run off the scammers and spammers.

3.  He had a rule that all items for sale had to have a price; no make an offers.
