A friend gave me this plier-type tool yesterday, all rusty and could not see a mark.  I cleaned it and the mark is Moore Bros. Co. of Rochester, Ind.  I googled it but didn't find anything.  The bottom jaw has a brass section which the top jaw engages, the top jaw extension is "U" shaped and has a cutting edge.  I would guess a leather tool, what do you think?

Similar to a pair I have but the bottom on mine is a small piece of hardwood instead of the brass. I don't know what the original purpose was but like you I was thinking leather work. No markings on mine.
