I got the '52 and '53 Craftsman tool catalogs in the mail last night.  They are in great condition, but they STINK! They have that musty mildewy smell of being stored in a shed with a leaky roof.  Is there anything that will cure B.O. (Book Odor)? My first thought was FABREZE, but I thought I would let Branson take a swing at it. Anyone that gets books at the dump knows what these smell like.

Sunlight ; )  They are growing mold, it is hard to kill without damaging the paper...

If you scan them in, we can all read them without smelling them you know -P

(Try not to breathe in too much mold, it isn't good for you)

Other than that, dry them out as much as you can.
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

My wife used to work in a library. Lots of book mold. That's probably where she got copd.

Put them in small container with a box of baking soda for a couple of weeks. That will help.
