Unknown Pliers

Am putting this down here because some people I know think plain old slip joint pliers are strictly a farm tool.   In my recent acquisition, are 4 common slip joint 5 inch pliers, 2 are CEETEES, one is plain, and the fourth is stamped PTI 406, Mfg USA,  on the reverse side is nothing.  Who made them? for sale to what oraganization?   PTI just doesn't ring any bells for me.

The CeeTee's are Crescent Tool, hence the C T.  Got a couple of pairs myself.

Strictly a farm tool?  Every household I knew when I was growing up had at least one pair, and often two or three.   How does one survive without a pair of pliers?  There were probably more in towns and cities than there were on farms.  They came in car tool kits, and don't we all know that the tool kits seldom went with the cars when they were sold used.

There was a PTI Inc, New York city advertising various small tools and gadgets in Pop sci and other mags around the 50's-60's....Might be a sales organization....(NYC companies often were )
