I don't collect them either, just have a dozen that came here to roost.   Without checking the patent, the shape tells me it is from the 30s or 40s.   Only the art deco period would streamline the end of a flashlight.  I consider them a tool, with the nooks and crannies in todays car, I always have one on me.

Good guess, the patent is only for the switch, but it's dated 1938...

Gotta love a flashlight properly shaped to move through the air at supersonic speeds....

I don't collect them either, but a dozen or so have somehow founs a home in my stuff.

I have about a dozen of the U.S. Military angle head plastic flaslights. Some are made by Fulton and some by G.T. PRICE. I believe they are still being made to this day. I even have some still new in the box. I didn't start out to collect them, I just keep finding them and buying them if the price is right. Most i find are in good condition. I also have alot of Mag lites. I have bought Mag lite wall brackets and have them hanging in each room of the house in case of power outage. Years ago I had two made by Winchester, but my lust for money at times, I sold them to a collector of Winchester items.
