Back a few weeks, Lewill2 spotted a rare monkey wrench in the stash that got me my title. I finally researched it today. My aging eyeballs aren't  good at reading hammered up wrench markings, but I managed to see enough of the markings to get the patent date. I can only see 2 letters of the makers name, but that is enough once you have the patent. The two letters are; AN. It looks like it was marked at the factory; M&STPRW which I assume is Milwaukee and St Paul Rail Way. The wrench is a MANVEL & LINDSAY.

Ahh, Nice.   Since its railroad, am betting its a steel handle, not a PH handle?   The Initials are done far better than any RR tools I have seen.   How long is it?

Actually it is a drilled wood handle much like a pipe wrench. The quality of the stamp and the placement is what makes me think that it was done at the factory. Considering that the Milwaukee Road had a shop capable of building a complete locomotive from scratch, they could have done it too. It is 12 inches long.
