Lesson Learned today

When I sent Oilyrascal the tool from my drawing on the 24th, I included a surprise gift, not much, a Allen wrench set.  I used one of the Postal Service's small flat rate boxes.  Well I learned today that the allen wrench set never made it to his house.  The sticky flap on the box must of came loose and the allen wrench set escaped. Lesson learned is put a little tape on those buggers, because their glue is not trust worthy.

I've never trusted those self adhesives....I now know why.

In the warm weather the glue doesn't work that well.I've been taping the P/O boxes for some time now.

I usually tape my boxes just in case. I never trust anything that peels an sticks itself.

I about fell off my chair when I was reading the reviews on Amazon on this tape.

It might be a little over the top for securing packages.  However, it would probably withstand a 40 yard. drop kick into the next postal buggy by some PO'd worker, although 3M's clear packing tape might be a better buy.

Then there is always Gorilla tape if you still feel the heavy duty stuff is the way to go.

Those reviews are funny.
I worked at a Test Nuclear Reactor site in Idaho for 30 years and we used duct tape by the truck loads.  It was used to tape down plastic barriers that helped keep contamination from spreading out of containment areas and work areas.  It also was used to tape down and help seal the workers anti-contamination clothing.   
Back in the early 70's a small piece of silver tape fell into the reactor tank. The silver color blended in with the color of the fuel elements and was not discovered.  It made it's way to the top of one of the fuel elements, which restricted the cooling water flow and caused damage to the element.  From that time forward the silver tape was forbidden on site and only the bright Yellow duct tape was used.

I use 3/4 in nylon threaded tape to go around each box both ways .Also corner cross each corner of envelpoes . bob w.
