Whitman and Barnes 15" Adjustable wrench

I recently was the recipient of this wrench, thanks to my younger bro who found this in a pawn shop on a trip to Colorado.  I have seen a few other ones but not any with the metal handle. Does anyone have any information on the year or patent#.  Any input would be greatly appreciated
