Trimo spud wrench

 Why did Trimo label these wrenchs "Spud" ? I think of a spud wrench as a iron workers wrench with a tapered drift pin end. This has the 12-13 -11 patent which has to do with the washer to prevent accidental change of adjustment, but nothing to do with spud. Not a plumber but read that older toilets had a connection called a "spud". Could this wrench be intended to work on this part ?

OK, not really, but yes, plumbers have spuds too....

(A spud nut is that funny nut that has a flange on one side to fit a flared piece of drain tube, like under a sink)
