Multi Tools

Not as nice as the German one Papaw posted, but quality tools in thier own right.
Large set is a SPINTITE by WaldenWorcester, next is a Bridgeport H.M. Corp, last shows no brand.

I didn't know there was an interchangable version of the Spintite tools, I thought they were all fixed size drivers..interesting...

Added another multi tool today, another  nice big one. Plus a no name 5 1/2 bicycle wrench, a no name chisel/bitand a starret punch.
Have not cleaned the multi tool yet, there is a faint name on the ferrule. Looks like Shantrelles Pat March 2 1880 ?
Heavy piece, brass ferrule it looks like and the clamp design seems early (and heavy).
And a different mix of tools, like a wood working set opposed to a general tool selection (WAG).

I like all these, never seen one with nut drivers.  Usually they have the awl, corkscrew, screwdrivers and such.  Neat.

There are in fact, 4 consecutive patents for Chantrell here, One multi handle, a brace chuck, and 2 file handles. (The file handles would explain the fascination with square drive tools ;P)

The Chantrelle was a good find!!  They are not common.  For what it's worth, they came in two sizes, I think yours is the smaller one, as is the one I bought this summer.  A friend of mine has both sizes along with a couple hundred more.  He has the largest multi-tool collection of anyone I know.

My wife collects these, with my help, and we've only managed to gather up about 30.  I got several this summer, but since we've come back to FL I haven't found any; in fact I didn't find any at all last year in FL.  Maybe Brian got them all.
