You may have seen my questions about the Williams S-51 ratchet. I got it open. Cleaned out the gunk, re greased it with lithium/moly grease. So whjat was scary?
Well I turned the selector too far while it was open. I chose not to remove it as it seemed to require the breaking or removal of a pin I was not prepared for so in not removing it I opened myself up to turning it too far.
After a search here and on google I found the patent drawings which showed a spring loaded plunger. A couple light taps with the hammer spun it around with no further damage.

The ratchet has sentemental value I am sure glad I was able to fix my mistake.
