AJ81 Socket
« on: January 10, 2013, 07:03:58 PM »
I continue to seek assistance with identifying the maker, and any special applications, for this socket marked only "AJ81".  It measures 6" long, and has a 1-1/2" flat-to-flat measurement on the business end and 7/8" across the flat of the other.

I'd appreciate any assistance that might be provided.

Oily,  I took a quick look through Rathbone but didn't see anything.

If you can state its maker and application here it is yours free of charge (assuming you want it).

Since it is hollow, and one could turn it with a small bar or even a spike, it could be a spark plug socket.   Some early tractors used a very large spark plug.

1-1/2" large?  Not questioning your knowledge rather making sure you caught the size.....I don't know early tractors.

It sure seems, based on appearances, you are correct Eddie.......although the model number contstruct of those I'm finding do seem different.
