Proto line wrenches

As some of you know, I got these for a amazing price a while back.

I was wondering a rough date on them and any other info people have is always appreciated.

Heres a picture if you don't remember them.

The design & numbers carried over from PLOMB-- I have a rusted, pitted "pebble" PLOMB 3724 3/4 that otherwise is identical in appearance to the wrenches in your set. (sorry for the poor quality scan -- my computer & peripherals are "antique" )

Oily might be able to help. I bought some NOS line wrenches from him a while back....but I don't think they held on to that design for too many years after 1949. I have a couple regular Proto wrenches that have very small pebble inserts on them and I would guess they were the subsequent generation to these, but alas, no dates to work with.

They seem to still appear in the 1962 catalogue. That's that latest one I have access to...

Mvwcnews- thanks. Your right there pretty much identical exept the name.

Dimwittedmoose51- I wish oily was still around to help us out on this. I didn't think they were that old, could be thoe.

Lbgradwell- thanks ile have to see if I can find a PDF of more recent ones.

Scott's- I really did trually wana know more. If I can gloat a little in the proccess that never hurts LOL.

I got an email form him...businees load is preventing him form doing tool stuff for the foreseeable future. He's fine and so is the family...

If they have Los Angeles on them, they are in the 1948 to 1956 time frame.

VERY nice! Congrats! Don't let go of them. I had a set of pebbled Proto tappet wrenches a while back that I stupidly parted with. Wish they were still in my box...
