Picked this one up in TX. Have not found any info on this company. The jaw is wrong (marked Rigid and one size too small). Anyone know anything? Also, what is the purpose of the bottom end?

I don't know the original purpose of the end , but I'd be using it to hang on a pipe ,
rather than bending over to pick it up.

The likely purpose of the "bottom end" is that of turning a valve handle.  It mirrors a valve wrench in design.

Only reference I could find is that Blacksmith Tool Co was involved in a patent spat with Lawton Industries.

Perhaps there first and last product?

I think Lawton was making oil well tools...

Just saw this thread now, but Oily is quite right.

Reed still makes this tool and calls it an Operator's Wrench.

Looks like a good idea. Any time that you have to deal with an old washer and seat valve, you have to loosen the packing nut, turn the valve open or shut and then tighten the packing again. Packing nuts are always chewed up from pipe wrenches.

Thanks guys. Interesting concept. I just like the name on the wrench even if it is not that old a wrench. Someday more info on that company will surface.
