Craftsman Circle "U"?

Got this old Craftsman 1/2" ratchet that looks a bit different from most I've seen from 30s-40s.  The selector lever is different and the handle has a "Circle U" logo (pointed to by pencil in photo).  Anybody know what the 'U' means?

It means the ratchet was made by Plomb/Penens.

Aha!  A lot of other socket tools in this lot are Plomb.  This came from Sharon, PA so I'm betting the Plomb line was popular in that area...
