Anyone have a clue who made this wrench?
Nothing else on it but 177.

What are the opening(s) sizes?  Looks like it was designed for  three sixes of square head set screws, and three sizes of hex head bolts or cap screws.

I sure would like to know what this is made from, it wasn't super rusted up but since I had a few wrenches soaking in vinegar I decided to do this one too.
When I took it out today and started rinsing and brushing the crud off, almost like toxic fumes gagged the hell out of me and my hands were were so black like pencil dust unlike any other wrench that I have done.
Here are the after pics. If anyone knows the contents of it please let me know.

Where are the guys with the science background?   Got to be answer here, for Vinegar to release fumes, some type of metal other than the norm?    Vinegar alone will make me run out the back door.

Now that you have acid etched it, it has the look of cast iron, so my guess would be that it was made out of ductile iron, which is iron and one of copper, nickel, or chromium (15-30%), with a small amount of usually magnesium.
Nickel and chromium acetate's are brightly colored, copper acetate is very dark blue, and copper oxide is black. None of these salts are terribly stable, and you have lots of other things in the soup...

Organic nickel and chromium salts are often carcinogenic btw...
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Thanks rusty, as black as my hands were and the stench made me wonder what was in the soup. I'm gonna spray paint it so at least I can handle it w/o getting all stunk up.
