My Bonney quest is over!

As many of you know, I've been searching high and low for some Bonney DBE's in metric. My set was missing those two, in sizes that are very common. Only thing is - the wrenches are not. After 10 years of diligent searching, the two came up on ebay as buy it now's, and I had a friend grab one. I was able to personally acquire the other. NOS, beautiful examples, no owners marks, just gorgeous.
I thought I'd share a few pics of my treasure with my friends here at Tool Talk.
Look at the wall thickness of the one box end! Truly indestructible!

I am happy to hear the quest is over,  perseverance wins out.   Sorry to hear you have nothing in Bonney left to collect, that is so sad.     Any more I just hate to finish a collection, the hunt is stilled.

My dad had a saying, "You've gotta have the money or the time".
His position was, rich people can just fork over the money, and get what they want now. Normal folks had to bide their time. He taught me that, if you scrounge, stay alert, and keep looking, you'll eventually find what you want for a price you're willing to pay. And he was right!
Too bad he's been dead for 12 years, as I think he would have liked to hear me say that.

My new goal? Fill out my sets of Proto Yellow grip screwdrivers and Williams obstruction wrenches.

Define "rich"

In my 20's I started buying S-K tools, and a few odd Snap-On tools. I would always try to follow the maxim "buy the best tools you can afford." For me, that was S-K tools. (I had to save up to get them.)

Now I can get pretty much whatever I want, I still prefer s-k for my users. I especially like finding a good deal.  The chase is more fun when you wait for the right deal.

My problem is that I am trying to complete so many different sets because of picking up "deals" that I didn't need. My collecting lacks focus and borders on hoarding. I think I have solved that problem, though. (I am putting together tool kits for my  5 kids and their spouses.)

For all of that I really like your approach b-man. Keep up the good example.

For the record, my father also liked S-K. It's where I got my appreciation for them.

Bonney was found totally on my own. And quite by accident.
When I started working auto repair out of high school, I needed tools. The truck dealer who came around to the shop sold Bonney. I needed tools - he took payments. Still have those two original sets of combo wrenches. Never broke one, never stripped one out, never spread an open end. After 30+ years.
