Couldn't find any patent that seemed like it might be connected to this. Very light weight so must be some kind of aluminium alloy. Overall length 8 inches. Opening is 11/16. I am sure I've seen one before somewhere but can't remember where.

Looks like the ones that would come with some scissor jacks.
