new member looking for an ID

I just got some old wood working tools from a friend and I am about to show my ignorance by asking what da heck is it?  It's a Plane!  It's a Bird!  no, it's ... ????

The length is 14 inches.  Suspect it is some type of special wood plane/scrapper/shaper.

Well the wood handle is very similar to handles on autobody solder or leading files, but the teeth??? looks more like they maybe for shaving ice?

I'd go for a bodyshop rasp, for epoxy filler rather than solder... would also serve well as a sculptor's rasp for wood or soft stone

Yep, for bodywork on cars for shaving down filler.

Heller made one similar, called it the Vixen body file.

I have a few Vixen files, they are not for plastic!  most of the bondo files are more like cheese graters, as they were called back in the day.

I've seen tools like this generally called a "Sure-Form" (at work) for quick-shaving down sheetrock "mud."  Some have actual files installed and some have stuff like the cheese grater mentioned above.  This material is new to me, but I reckon the idea still holds.

Stanley UK make a similar tool called a Surform, c.f. Bear-man's Sure -Form - various sizes and shapes of blade with a 'cheese-grater' form of tooth...

Could be for foam, EIFS or surfboards etc (Styrofoam) ?
