I recently bought one myself.  I'll check on the size in the morning.  First one I've encountered.

Nice looking wrenches! Are they the panel wrenches that I'm thinking of? I will check my stash, or as I call it "My Pile"!

I think I have one but it is unmarked.

crankshaftdan II

I have these three-first looks like cadimum plate-top & second one down are unmarked by name.  Only the bottom one is  marked Barcalo, probably all made  by the same company.  All three are available for tool adoption!!   Cranky

Looking for USA made ratchets-all sizes-drives and lengths  also S-K SuperKrome wrenches ditto.  Like to trade vs buy run it past me-nothing is cut in stone!

Most of the Barcalo wrenches I find are double box wrenches and double off set box wrenches and most are 1/2 x 9/16.

Mine is marked - Barcalo - Buffalo - U S A - , cadmium finished.  DOE, 15/16 and 1".

While the example in AA doesn't give a date, aren't there general dates for the use of cadmium plating?  That could give a clue to the dates of the "geometric panel" Barcalos.  AA does note that their tappet wrenches in the 1934 catalog came in "sand blasted steel" or cadmium plate.

general dates for the use of cadmium plating?

Sort of, it was popular before WWI as a cheap finish option, and used during the war because chrome was scarce, but by the 50's it is rare to see it as a finish option...

I seem to remember a design patent on that panel wrench design...will have to look later...
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

My favorite OE wrench pattern. One of at least 8 different Barcalo OE wrench patterns.  Chuck Garrett

Also have a 5/8-3/4 identical to crankys

They go at least to 15/16-1"  Chuck Garrett

I have 2 sets of the "geometric pattern". One set I'll call T-1 is marked Forged USA and the other Marked Barcalo USA  I call T-2.  Both go from 5/16 thru 1  1/8.  I would like a patent # and any documentation as to date etc.

EVILDR235

I have several, but they are unmarked.

Been going thru me research notebook.  There was a set of 5 in a sheet metal holder mkd Forged USA, sizes 5/16 -3/4. This with the cad pltg thing would put production  mid to late 30s possibly as late as 1941.  Barcalo may have made these under contract.  Does the PN 655MH indicate Massey Harris?
