Odd wrenches
« on: September 03, 2014, 05:55:07 PM »
Some oddball wrenches while rummaging around...

1) Drain plug wrench, at least, I assume that, since it says so on the wrench, doesn say much else tho, like who made it, or where to get another one...(does say drop forged, and made in usa)

2) Very strange wrench made by riveting a stamped wrench to a forged wrench with a really strange 4 sided opening on the socket end...(Marked only 12349)

3) Farm type / Carriage wrench that looks for all the world like it has a nail puller built in...???

For some reason strange and weird things hear me coming and yell out to me....

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Rusty, That second wrench could be American Seating Co wrench. I have a 18044 wrench of theirs that has a stamped handle and a forged oew riveted together. Also have another wrench of theirs with 5 digit part number which has a cast handle and a forged oew.
Just a guess.

The bottom one with the nail claw on the end turns up every now & then -- no one has ever identified a maker or what circumstance would suggest combining wrench and claw.

Interesting...

The farm wrench openings do not seem to cover every size, I was thinking general purpose (household) wrench maybe, but perhaps not. Openings are very rough, and not the same on both sides, I think they were cut before the wrench was bent into an s-shape. Openings are (+/-) 5/8  7/8 1-1/4,13/16,9/16
If the 9/16 and 13/16 are assumed to be really extra sloppy, you get

1/2,5/8,3/4,7/8,1-1/4 , almost a set...

Interesting...
Do you suppose the weird opening is just a variation of a wingnut wrench?
