It's something, I just don't know what
« on: September 05, 2014, 11:35:32 AM »
I have this little plier tool with several functions, but I don't know what they are. It is well made, about 7 inches long, and with what appears to be a nickel plating. There are no logos or markings of any kind. It is clearly made to do some specific job, but what?

Looking through the MVWC past auctions, I see one of these was sold at the 2007 Vern Nail auction. (#906-2) It was listed as unknown unfortunately, so that was no help. It does appear though that there might be some sort of little brackets attached to those holes at the ends of the plier handles? Hard to say for certain.

Good lord, those are some over-engineered pliers in that picture! Wow...

An engineer knows he has reached perfection not when there is nothing left to ad, but when there is nothing left to take away :P

I'm sure they were all designed to do all aspects of their own certain task... But still o.o

I do like the #900 with the little baby vise on the end of one of the grips, that's adorable... I wonder if the jaws-side would fit into an Anvil hardy hole...

So any theories on these little pliers? Looks like they are designed to do three or four separate tasks. I just really have no idea what they were..?

Update: I managed to find another one of these tools. This one has all the same functions as my first one, but was produced on different tooling dies. And no maker's marks, grrrrrr. I'm still hoping somebody can tell me what they were used for.

This is a swag, but the finish makes me think of medical or veterinary type pliers.
