I do a lot of thrift store shopping and often come across unusual items.  Can you identify the one in the attached images?  Turning the knurled sleeve draws the metal loop into the flattened ferrule.  The end of the handle resembles a clay modeling tool.  The tool is 6 inches long.

Another unidentifiable thrift store item was a beautifully wrought iron object which no one I contacted was able to identify.  See attached photos (those are a ruler and yardstick in the photo).  Any ideas about who might be able to ID it's function?  I ended up fastening wooden spheres in the loops and using it as a wall mounted hat rack

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

The bottom one looks like something to hang hats on. The first something for working on cables or ropes. Both are WAG.

I suspect that the second one is for hanging things with tabs, and should be mounted with the long side up.  Sure looks like a well made one-off.

At first glance, the other one looks like a clay tool called a loop, but the screw adjustment doesn't make sense, and the wire seems too thick to be useful.   Could the loop be completely unscrewed to accept a different loop?  Kinda like a multi-tool?
