Craftsman hacksaw

I have this shallow throated Craftsman hack saw and am not finding any info on it. I want to sell it, but don't want to give away a valuable tool.
OAL 16"- blade 10 3/8" long and 10" pin to pin. Twist handle is 4 1/2" long. Depth is only 7/8".

Where did Rose Antique Tools website disappear to? They used to have Sears catalogs ( I think). I seem to remember that the catalogs were adopted by another website. Is that correct? Anyone?

Don't know the value , but I have seen several others without the Craftsman handle.

Papaw, If you're figuring that this is going to be used for a significant part of your retirement portfolio you will probably want to get more...many many more.

I am selling a lot of wrenches that no longer interest me, but certainly am not depending on them to fund retirement!

Papa,

Interesting Crafty tool, looks to be fairly early. I may be able to help you date it. Can you supply any of the stampings on the tool (i.e. model number, makers mark, etc.)?

The only thing I see on it is CRAFTSMAN on the handle.

Papaw, Thanks for the Blackburn link - I saved it.

I looked on eBay but there were only the later style with the aluminum handle selling for around $7 -$9.
There was a Snappy with a similar handle but different blade holder arrangement - that sold with another saw for around $30.

Look on the round bar above the blade; I'm not sure, but it looks like there is something stamped on it.

Looks like I found it... model 3555 "Close Quarters Hacksaw". Sold between 1946-1958, it originally sold for $0.69 and last sold for $1.55. There was also a smaller 6" model sold during the earlier years.

It looks to me like you would be best served by using recent ebay sales for a price guide.
