Gary, I went after it with some 00 steel wool and still don't find anything. I have not done real macro photography in a while, but I broke out an extension tube and shot  some close-ups. All I see is loss of plating.

System is not letting me post pictures right now.

Papaw,

Don't worry about it.  Not a big deal.  And I posted much of the information, above, that you might be needing.

Using a similar formula to one that another member recently posted;  1946 to 1958 realized a gain in value of 225%.  Every twelve years it more than doubles in value.  Today it would be worth $66.88 .  Congrats Papaw!

But only if someone wants or needs it very badly would that price ever realize.

That is a great little saw.

Papaw,

+1 what bonneyman said.

It is a very handy saw when your up against confined spaces.  Depending on what you do, this might be something that could be used a lot.

That said, most folks, including myself, can get by with a standard hacksaw and can go their whole life without needing a close quarters saw.

So I'm guessing the market for a close quarters hacksaw is likely to be relatively small.  Of course, I could be wrong.

At any rate Papaw, I'm sure you will make out just fine in finding a new home for this unique vintage Crafty hacksaw; happy prospecting.

Think I might keep it just to use someday instead of the plastic handle thing that uses regular hacksaw blades. I do have another style with a deeper throw that is getting cleaned up soon.
