Roebling Twin Alligator Wrench. I am partial to alligator wrenches and this is only one of my many favorites. Sizes #1 and #2 on a 10" wrench with really good teeth.Made by J A Roebling of Trenton, New Jersey of Brooklyn Bridge fame.

Were they intended to be used only on square nuts?
Of all the things I've lost , I miss my mind the most

Papaw

They were used on other fasteners as well as being used as pipe wrenches.

Nice one! Any idea on how many different sizes they made?
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Papaw

I don't know what sizes Roebling produced. Others made up #5.

I must be dense. I never realized there was a standard numbering system for alligator wrench sizes.

I don't think there ever was.

Roebling made a #5 also, I have one, or had one.

Are these Roebling wrenches very rare ?

Papaw

Not especially rare, but when in good condition, they are beautiful to me!
