Hi

I havent been on in while but used to be very active here. Life got busier and busier and I kind of slipped away. I thought I would reintroduce myself.

My Name is Cliff. 52 year old Grandfather of 19, which might explain where my spare time went. Been divorced a couple times but finally found someone to live happily ever after with. Karen and I have been together 10 years May 18th. So long as I try to get the "new" old tools into the basement before she sees them, I should be good for another 10 years or so.

My interests are foremost my grandchildren but also old tools, nature, hiking, birds, wildflower, hiking, Native American artifacts, the beach, history and the list goes on.

I do handyman & garden/landscape work and sell/trade old tools and such for money to feed the addiction ( to old tools) and Karen gives me a lot of grief when spending "good money" on "rusty junk" when I have "a whole basement" full of it. You guys know what I mean.

anyway nice to be back and look forward to catching up!

Welcome back!

My wife has given up on the, "Do you REALLY need another screwdriver?" routine. Maybe because I've fixed so much stuff that has quit without notice and saved us a boatload of money.

Welcome back, fliffy!

Jeez, a rusty wrench or screwdriver or two doesn't really seem so bad compared with all the possible alternatives

Have you tried the investment line ? When my wife used to complain about me buying old tools my defense was "I never buy a tool I don't think is worth more than I paid for it." Doesn't mean it always is but its some defense.

Welcome back cliff

An for those who don't know cliff is who told me about tooltalk.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

welcome back Cliff,
yes, once the rust gets into your blood, you will most likely return to the forum.

timetakers are many in todays fast paced life, we have to slow down and take the time to enjoy
our families and hobbies.

I  have 3 childrenm 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren plus another on the way.
between them and doctor appointments, time goes by fast.  but I am thankful every morning
when I can put my feet on the floor and start another day.

after 63 years of marriage, my better half is used to my collecting rusty (artifacts) tools.
I stopped smoking 35 years ago & stopped drinking 33 years ago,  but did not stop living.

I am looking forward to reading about your collecting, as I am not too far from you.
I hang my hat in Monson, Massachusetts.

good luck with what you do.  Frank
