We are sitting in the path of the "dirty side" of the storm. Right now it is near landfall south of Houston and moving slowly onto the coast near Matagorda, Texas. We will get tons of rain. I am sure.

I heard again that the weather has been severe in Alvin, TX - tornadoes and torrents.  Much footage of the storms and destruction on national news this morning.

Papaw and others,  I pray that you all have weathered it all ok and that you are safe and well.  My thoughts are with you.  Please keep us informed.  Ralph

Alvin shown on New Zealand TV news here this morning.

A tornado passed through Alvin hopping up and down every 5 miles or so. Missed our house by 2 or 3 miles, but tore up lots of trees and power lines. Our Volunteer Firefighter son answered 7 calls and worked all of them. Biggest damage just north of town with people hurt, but no fatalities.

We got 6 to 9 inches Friday night.  I live northwest of Alvin. My street flooded, but it only got into the yard about 15 feet.  I found two of my trash cans at the end of the street otherwise no problems.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....
