Athol Machine, Standard Tool Co Rapid Transit Wrench
« on: October 25, 2015, 12:27:30 PM »
I added another different size to my group of Rapid Transit wrenches, Manufactured by Athol Machine Co and by their subsidiary The Standard Tool Co. Patented June 8, 1880 Patent Number 228,437 . I now have examples in the 6, 8, 10 & 12 inch sizes. I'm not sure if they made them in any more sizes or not.

I too only have a 6" one, also with the metal handle.  I think I saw a picture once of a wood handled 6" version, or was that my imagination?

Didn't realize they made that many different sizes...very nice!

Were they that sweet when you purchased them--or did you put some TLC into them?
What a nice set!

I cleaned up a couple of them and the other 2 were already cleaned by previous owners. The 6 inch has been painted gold and I haven't cleaned that one. I've never seen a wood handled 6 inch one.
