Wright No 83 Pliers

Anyone have an idea as to the purpose of these pliers?  I'm guessing battery.

That would be my guess as well. The wright logo is typical of early tools, the 2 digit number with no letter prefix makes me wonder if they are rather early....

Wright is one of those companies whose early model number system makes absolutly no sense whatsoever, it's like they just picked numbers and letters out of a hat each time they came up with a new tool.

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
