VACO nutdrivers

Don't know if any of you guys like VACO's, but I found a 4-set of almost NOS nut drivers yesterday at a thrift store for cheap.

To bad The rest of the set wasn't there. I have a couple of their screwdrivers but haven't come across a nut driver yet.

Bill, I already had the rest of the smaller ones. Now all I'm missing (I think) is a 9/16".

I should probably get a full family picture.

That is a nice looking set.

Nice to see that the larger ones have a good-sized grip.  Some mfgs are so stingy with their plastic.  What are they thinking?

Nice set! I have a 1/4 Vaco witch was one of my first tools, still use it nearly everyday and still works great I'd like to get more someday but I haven't found ay more yet.

VACO was pretty much the only game in nutdrivers with "insulated" plastic handles into  the 60s when Kline and Channellock jumped in.  The complete set in plastic guaranteed brittle in winter roll went from 1/4 to 1/2" with 9/16 and 5/8 being additional specials. 
Sears also was in the game, primarily through their Industrial Sales operation, with little available in retail stores.

Before VACO plastic handles nutdrivers primarily existed with wood handles in industrial assembly line areas.

In the time before TV advertising lawyers, carpal tunnel, and cheap labor it was cost effective to add a woman to the line turning a nutdriver rather than an expensive air tool.
