My father gave me this old socket set.  He said he got it from his father but he's not sure where his father acquired it from.  I found some information on ebay but they were listed as WALDEN WORCESTER AND MOSSBERG and this one is Billings & Spencer Co.  Looks to be complete with maybe a few extras.  Any info appreciated.

Looks like you have a fine ratchet.  See it here:   http://alloy-artifacts.org/billings-spencer-company-p2.html#early-sockets

The sockets may or may not match the ratchet (look for the B-Triangle logo) and the box may or may not match the set.
Just a guess--but the box and sockets may have been manufactured by Mossberg and branded to Triumph.  The ratchet likely came from another source.
Do a Google image to find a couple of other Triumph boxes--one with a ratchet marked W & M Co identified by alloy artifacts as having been made by Mossberg for Sears back in the day.  http://alloy-artifacts.org/frank-mossberg-company-p2.html

It gets complicated.
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the miss matched set.  I found some sockets with just the size on them, a few with what I take is the Mossberg logo, and some with nothing on them at all (or that I can see).

I really like the looks of that ratchet and the box label. I've never seen either one of them before. Thanks for the post.

The M in a diamond is definitely Mossberg's logo.

Always looking for Stanley planes and parts, Mossberg and Plomb wrenches.

The 2 red label pictures do not fully load for me so I don't know if the following is printed on them.

I believe Triumph was located on W 53rd st in NYC in the 1920's - 30's. They were an automotive aftermarket supplier sort of like JC Whitney or Mandel in Chicago.
