EDGAR C GOTHARD TOOL???
« on: September 24, 2016, 05:37:16 PM »
A friend just brought this funky tool over for inspection and all we could pull off of it was on the end cap.  It's about 15" long and weighs about 2#.  The angled head appears to be specifically designed to get in a hard to reach area.  In the handle, there's the leverage rod that spins the socket from the end and all of the sockets have the "through design" feature like Gear Wrench etc.  One of the sockets appears to be  a square drive so perhaps you could use a normal 1/2"socket with it.

Anyone ever heard of this outfit?  The pat. pend is legible but the top part of the logo on the end cap is pretty well rusted off.    The last 4 letters on the top appear to be"MONT"  So maybe Fremont  (Herbrand?) or Beaumont?  Can't find anything in a Google Search

BTW, we're high and dry with all the flooding going on in Iowa right now, but feeling for those not so lucky right now.

Thanks Bird.  I'll pass the word along.  hey guy that owns it might trade me a pipe wrench for it.  Go figure.  I still find it strange that this one will store a few sockets in the barrel, but still there is that big box of sockets that's part of the tool
