KINSMAN CAST ALUMINUM SOMETHING OR ANOTHER
« on: October 08, 2016, 12:33:20 PM »
Bought this at a yard sale Thursday due to its unique look.  One guy claimed it was a hog ring pliers, but I don't see a recess for the ring in the jaws.  Any help would be appreciated.

The Don Ervin wrenching news auction on April 18 & 19 of 2008 makes reference to an adjustable combination wagon wrench made by Kinsman & Merrill. I looked briefly but didn't find the item. There might be some info if you can find out more about that company. I agree with you about it not being hog ring pliers, it just does not look right.

I have seen similar pliers which are intended to handle camping utensils, pots, pans , lids etc...

Thanks.  The right angle-ish look to it makes you think it was spozed to go inside a hold or recessed area.  These "pliers" are not heavy duty by any means.  The mystery continues......

Would like to see the camp set it came from.  Never heard of kinsman anything before, and apparently neither has the internet.....lol.

Thanks Analog

What analog said... your local Boy Scout troop cook set will have plyers similar for handling cast Iron Dutch Oven lids and bails.
