Hello, I wonder if anywhere else has these strange weather patterns/extremes?? Yesterday & today brought our first measurable amount of snow. Today was also the last brush pickup for my neighborhood. I had to be careful not to throw snow on the empty brush barrel!!!! Those that had raked late & had piled up leaves, had them removed by the snowplows!!!!!!!  It won't go above freezing until Monday, and then it will rain!!!! I am sure that amecks knows the routine!!!!! Regards, Lou

Somewhere I read that the worst weather in the World is in North America. If you stop and think of all the different weather extremes we are subjected to, it makes sense.

Where else do you find the temperature extremes, hurricanes, tornadoes, waterspouts, floods, wildfires, snow, large rainfalls, droughts, and on and on.

I have 24" + of snow in my yard and 4-5 feet on top of the pile of sticks and leaves at the road I raked up last week. They will be there until spring. Everyday the weatherman says 3" - 6" of snow. I'm glad it goes to the south of me. I still have leaves on my maple tree.

Yeah, Lou and Ken.  A foot of snow to clean up when I got home today.  And I only just last night put the plow on my Cub tractor!  Phew!  But we can't complain too much with all the disastrous weather that we avoid by living here.  We have wicked winds, downdrafts and small tornadoes, and ice storms,  but we don't have raging wildfires, hurricanes and giant tornadoes, earthquakes and etc.  By the time a hurricane makes its way up here it is just a day or two of rain.

My wife Tamara showed me a video the other day of traffic driving near the fire in California.  It looked like the cars were driving toward the gates of hell.  Hoping and praying our friends out that way stay safe.

I would consider trading two Augusts for one Hurricane season.
