Can anyone help me identify this old wrench found in my grandfathers toolbox?

That's an alligator wrench, as to age and manufacturer I don't know but others on this site can probably   help you out.

It has a large "3" near the jaws of the tool.  Cleaning the tool further I found "Rock Island Lines" on the handle.  My grandfather worked for international harvester at the rock island, IL plant.  Maybe the tool is related to working on the railroad?

Hello, Here are pics of a J H Williams No. 2 Bull Dog wrench, (alligator style wrench). This one just happens to stamped NYCRR. Overall length is 9-1/8". Regards, Lou

#3 alligator wrench, and they were made by several manufacturers. The RR marking increases the sale value if you find a buyer interested in that RR.

i wouldn't be surprised if you found a W in a diamond shape on that wrench cavin722.
Sometimes it is hard to see.
