Hello, I am guessing that these are staple pullers, but I would like to be sure. I have looked through my old tool books, and on the internet, can't seem to find a match. The one at top is unmarked. The one at the bottom is stamped with what looks like PAT OCT 28 8O, but that is not a valid patent date. Thanks, Lou

Hello, Frank. Thanks for checking. I looked at those dates in the Datamp, no luck. I'm still looking, Lou

Hello, Mike. Thanks, the patent info clearly refers to the mechanism on the ones that I have here. Good job on the research!!!!!!! Thanks again, Lou

Hi Lou, I had some just like yours, and also one that had the little hammer on it marked "Columbian". I think I sold them both.

Capewell was rather prolific inventor, especially in the nail puller department.

Hello, Mike. I did see the picture of the one with the hammer, pretty neat. And I took another look at some of Capewell's other patents, quite a guy. Thanks for sharing,  Lou
