What was I born with - Grey smaller box
« on: November 13, 2011, 06:29:19 PM »
1/4 inch drive something-or-other, with a small tommy bar having a detent ball was included. It might have been a wrinkle finish at one time, but its gone now. Unique sliding top with open exposed area on the bottom side (of the top). Oh...naturally no brand name, decal or tag is or was evident.

Makes me go hmmmmm.....

That is very cool. I've not seen one like it before but I do like it.

I"ve never seen a box like that, but am wondering, there aren't any dividers, as for sockets, so maybe it contained a bit of tooling for a machine?  It is a neat find, I'd keep it for sure.

Is it possibly something made in a shop rather than a commercially made box?  I got a box full of drill bits a while back in a sheet metal box with a sliding lid that was almost certainly shop made.

How are the corners fastened or are they just formed, not fastened?

The top (shown upside down), slides either left or right. No detent to center it. The craftsmanship is precise and appears to be factory folded. It's been used extensively, or carried/used for a looooong time.

Smells like beef, tastes like chicken.....
