Yep, those are hand vices. The open end is padded so as not to damage the jewelry. The wedge just slides into the back to tighten the vice on the work piece.

I went back today for the rest of the jewelry stuff.

I found some jewelers tool catalogs, that should help with ID.

I now have thousands of crystals, crowns, stems, mainsprings and other tiny things that I have no clue what to do with.

I can prolly help you fix that 2 dollar watch from 1963, but why would you?

Look online for vintage Watch Repair, with that list you should be able reach out to a large group of people that might be interested in your new (old) stock.

Thise staking sets always seem to be pretty valuable.

Did you get the jewelers lathe?  That's what I'd have jumped on.

i was surprised about 2 staking sets, and mostly complete


I got the lathe , but no tailstock still trying to read the makers name

Yes, often used for rings and bracelets; some have reversible ends (padded in leather on one end...not on the other).
That is quite a haul.   Looks like a couple of saws back in the one corner.  Nice.

The non padded end is for the wedge.  Called ring clamps, but mi think of them as finger savers.  Hold on while buffing/ polishing.


They can get real fancy.  Pic coming.
