Craftsman Cross Handle Breaker Bar? Speeder?
« on: July 19, 2020, 10:16:28 AM »
Hello, I found this at the flea this morning. Only marking is CRAFTSMAN. I have never seen one before, and could not find one to give it the correct name. 1/2" drive, rubber or vinyl tips on handle ends, 9" across the drive bar, 16-1/2: long across the rubber or vinyl tips. Thanks, Lou

Maybe a lug wrench you put your own sockets on?

I have seen larger ones with 3/4 drive ends for trucks, so lug wrench is a good possibility

Hello, Guys, Thanks for the info. My first thought was lug wrench, but I dismissed the idea because this did not have fixed ends. I tried Craftsman Craftsman Lug Wrench, they called it a "Cross-Rim Wrench",  with fixed/forged hex ends, different opening configurations offered. I do see now how this would serve as a Lug Wrench, although the weld at the intersection of the bars doesn't look like it would welcome a big guy standing on one of the ends !!! Thanks, Lou

Hello, I am still unable to track down any info on this tool. Any chance it is a one-off? Shop made? Thanks, Lou

Hello, I put this on a Craftsman Tool Collectors Facebook group, and they were able to identify the tool. Here is a link to a 1960 Craftsman catalog that describes the tool, and its use. Regards, Lou
Many thanks to the Craftsman Tool Collectors group!!!!             Please scroll down to page 11.
