A wooden handle, cast iron head with a pattern inside. While looking thru old automotive catalog came up with a description that is close?Maybe you have seen the "lift a dot" tool before? on left in pic of catalog.  Yes /No?

Tool 169 is to be ordered either as  hex or octagonal nut driver. The two tools you show maybe leatherwork embossers.
