This was in a large lot of tools I was given last year.  How useful would this be in the garage?  I like it but not sure I want to go to the trouble of fixing it - i.t needs a cord, at least (a two wire cord, no ground), and could probably use new brushes, if available.  I should probably have checked how the keyless chuck works in action.  It spins freely but I didn't try drilling with it.  Is this a useful tool, or should I put it in the "for sale" pile?

Check comps and if you can't double your money or better keep it.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Double zero dollars?  Two times $0 = $0.  Guess I can't double my money!  Just kidding - because this was part of a box of tools a co-worker gave me.

What is the chance of finding new brushes?  Probably also zero.

Al:
brushes are pretty common, most hardware stores have a box of universal ones.  other wise motor shop will have them

Made for Shopmate by PET (Portable Electric Tools).  Some people like them.  You won't be drilling big holes with it.  If you've already got serviceable drill motors, this would be a toy to play with.

I like its looks, I would keep it and repair it even if you don't use it.  However, always check out old tools using a ground fault unless you don't care if you fry yourself.
