A picture might be worth 1000 words especially if you have a $4000 dollar monkey wrench. I want to see a $4000 dollar 48 inch monkey wrench.

It is possible, especially if it really is a 48" Coes in great condition. I bet Bus Haury can give us a better idea of the possible price.

I emailed the seller requesting pics.

I'll post them here, if and when.

If it was a 5 foot it would be a bargin. A 4 foot seems really high. There is a 3 foot on ebay for $499.00 and it hasn't sold for a few weeks.

On another thread on that same farm site is a fellow asking what a 48" coes key wrench is worth, posted about 2 weeks ago, It's not like those things show up on a daily basis....

I suspect the seller is fishing for a price.....

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

In Herb Pages book on Coes wrenchs he gives $1500 as a value in his price guide for this wrench. His book was published in 2004 and I doubt that value has increased that much. However as always condition can make a difference.

Out of curiosity, are the 2 smaller versions slightly cheaper, or drasticly cheaper?

Herb lists 30 and 40 in sizes at $250 to 300.
