We quit that "winner does the next one" a while ago.

I just take volunteers as we go along. I will put you on the list, you need to check the Giveaway Sticky thread. You are scheduled for March 10th now.

Seems it would make things alot easier to.........winner does the next one............You had better take me off the list because I simply will not remember that it is my turn when my turn does come up. I will just stop playing if that is going to be the case because nothin for nothin.
Thanks anyway though
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

1930, I can certainly remind you in advance if that is the case. I hope you'll  reconsider participating.

Well if thats the case than count me in, not trying to be special but I like everyone else has too much going on already and I dont want to leave myself the opportunity to feel stupid because I did not participate when I said I would. Thats why I mentioned there is no mistaking how you used to have it set-up, when you win you give deal. Thanks again

I've searched, I searched some more, waited a day, and searched again.  I can't find any detail on the "giveaway".  I'd like to think I'd join if I could understand how this works :)

Any insight would be appreciated.  I feel like the new boy at school who doesn't know when break time is.

Look at the "Stickies"- threads that are always on top in a category- You should see one or two about Giveaways.

Couple of years ago, I began a giveaway here on the forum, in which I would give some wrench or tool out of my stash each week to some lucky member who had posted in that week's "Papaw's Crazy Giveaway" thread. It was a blatant attempt at growing the participation of members and attracting new members. That led to members wanting to join in the giving, so we began rotating each week.
One intention is to spread the wealth of old tools around since some of us have duplicates or items we have no need for in our stash. Another is to push each other down the slope by giving something that the winner may not have yet.
In the beginning it was me giving, then when members wanted in, we were having the winner give the next week's prize, but sometimes the winner didn't have anything to give, so we went to volunteers each week.

The current list of givers is here- http://www.papawswrench.com/vboard/index.php?topic=3070.0

Because of the frigid weather here in Wisconsin, I did the ceremonial tool dance in front of the fire in my long handled BVD's and thermal snuggie boots. I did, however, wear my Tooltalk Tee over the ensemble. My wife didn't laugh nearly as hard as last time when I wore the feathered loincloth. But enough about fashion statements.
THE WINNER IS: BATZ!!!! Congratulations!!
