How do I unpolish a wrench

it might have been bent i agree. but the picture fails to show the edges were ground down on a vry fine grinding stone. so on top of being bent,which i canthoguth it was and can live with as i have had good luck straightening them before the metal has been gorund off or removed. oh well ill just keep on hunting . i am just adding my comments to the mix. i have to agree people dont work on flawless antiques. and i didnt pay all that much for the wrench.i think ill just put it on the roof of the shed and check it in 20 years !

Someday I will show you the almost flawless Plumb boy scout hatchet with nice clean logo , beautifull soft brown patina, and matching leather holster that some idiot in the shop decided to ""Sharpen"" for me one day...on an electric bench grinder...*sigh*

Like I was going to go out in the woods and use the silly thing to cut down a tree...

I see by the logo that is an International Harvester Co. wrench.  These came with farm tractors in the 20s and 30s.  Models with the names "Regular"  F-20, F-14,  15-30, think cast iron and steel wheels.  Probably the only other tools on the farm were under the seat of the Model T Ford, this wrench HAD to do the job, if it fit it had to tighten or loosen the nut.  Even if it meant using a cheater or having the fifteen year old son jump up and down on the handle.  It is amazing its only bent a little.  I look at that as a badge of usage from a far different time than this.   Got the one I saved from the tool box on my fathers Regular.

Good way to put it John. makes me feel alittle better. so i can live with the grinds and bends....i still wish someone didnt polish it to a mirror like surface!
