Recent Additions
« on: February 18, 2012, 11:11:22 AM »
Here are several recent additions to my collections. I'm especially pleased with the 4" BAHCO. New and unused, came in a plastic bag. The 10" King Dick has major chrome loss on the head.
An unknown alligator I got from John Harper- Wvtools- http://stores.ebay.com/WVTools/WVTools-Website-and-Store.html

Two other King Dick wrenches- a #A704- 11/16 x 3/4 AF DOE , and a 11/16 AF Combo.

I dont especially care for the alligators, ( all that chewing bugs me ) but I sure do like that little wrench
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

Judging by the uniformity of the teeth and the cut of the half inch opening, I believe it to be a production piece rather than a one-off fabrication. I'm thinking it may have been a sample to be offered as an advertising item. There have been many alligator patterns used as ad pieces, usually with a company name or logo on the tool.

One thought was that it could have been for those nuts behind the knob on old radio equipment.

I think the Bahco 4-inch is neat. Wish I'd found it!

The knob nuts on old radios are on the outside so you can unscrew them ;P

For some reason I am thinking that that is a bicycle wrench, tho, I can't tell you why ...

Either way, it looks hungry....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

That 4" BAHCO is sweet!  Do you happen to know of what decade it came from?

According to Bruce's Bahco Collections - http://www.melbys.net/bahco/Gen_four.htm
Quote
Wrenches 0669 - 0675
These were produced from 1969 to 1983.  Production of these began after the production of 70-series wrenches ended
1969 was the highlight of this wrench series
669-675 changed to 0669-0675.
The series 669-675, and Series 0669 - 0675 are identical.

Wrenches 969-975
These were produced from1954 to 1968.
These had a right hand threaded screw, but otherwise, was dentical to 669-675.

Wow great site, another one I hadn't found yet! Thank you for the link, Papaw. I have a collection Bahco adjustables that are users, some may have to be retired to the collectable section!

I heard about that club. That's why every time I get to exit 113 on Rte 17, I put the pedal to the metal.  LOL
