This morning's flea market haul

Started looking thru a box of tools and the guy says "take it all including the wooden box for $5.00"
Paid the guy. Didn't even look any further. Just the big alligator was worth the 5 bucks.

OK what do I see here??
I see over 1/2 solid keepers! How lucky to find all this in the same lot. Most random lots like this are only 10-20% keepers.
Of course the alligator and S-wrenches! Score!

    I see a terrifically useful sewing awl. Repairs and projects of all kinds are sitting right there. Projects only a custom leather shop charging over 100 an hour can do.

     I believe that is a honey knife in the middle of one shot. New hobby awaits there if you want it. Or someone else is going to be mighty grateful.

        Vice grips, real ones. Tile nippers,  classic slip joints, Wiss tin snips, best made, check.

      Looks like a Norton stone from a tri stone setup. If you are lucky its the coarse Carborundum. Mount it in a wood block to raise it off the surface of the bench you'll be very happy.

       Genuine punches and nailsets, only a fool would let those go.

    Check the backside of the large wood chisel. People pounding on a chisel with no handle often bend them Check it with a straightedge.

     Small sized nail nippers for brads. Damned good box joint replaceble jaw nippers like you can't buy for any money anymore.

       One good ball pein and 2 extra heads (the red handle has been broken and badly remounted, don't trust it) 

     That little innocent looking scraper? If you clean it up and sharpen the blade with a slight radius, and round off the corners so they never dig in?  Will give you great flexibility working with old finishes on wood. People will think you are genius getting so much old finish off wood, in so little time, with no chemicals and no sanding.

    The files are almost surely toast, but I see some great old school file handles to clean up for your good files.
 
   Those are genuine Wiss kitchen shears. And not made last year, unless I miss my guess.
If they are as old as they look and not ruined (some idiot sharpened the insides where the blades meet)??
  Clean those up and sharpen well and they will become the favorite shears of your entire life, guaranteed.
The leverage and fit of the handles, coupled with the short 4" blades,  gives them tremendous power for their size.

   I'd say your 5 bucks is likely to change your life.

Extremely nice haul.  Vise grips look old enough to have to be American made.   The long skinny pliers device next to the alligator wrench, are brake pliers.  Mainly used for pickups rear drum brakes only.  Do brakes on a 3/4 ton and it will suddenly became a lovely tool.  I wonder if everybody knows that the alligator wrench used to be referred to a fits all wrench for square nuts?  Any name brands in that string of sockets?  You done good.

Yep.  Suckage.  The $5 box means all the tools were free.  That sucks.
