No we don't do jousting but we do dress up in full combat armor and beat the crap out of one another. The weapons we use are made out of rattan...

Sounds like the S.C.A., wonder how many others do re-enacting here?   I only do farm shows, dress up circa 1920 which isn't that big a stretch for me.

I'd think that you might get a trifle testy if someone puts a dent in your hand hammered armor.

Getting the dents is the fun part... I don't fight any more however my son does as well a half a dozen other friends that I help do armor repairs for...

Sounds kinda painful. Don't think I want to be in the can when they are playing kick the can. Would be neat to see though. Nothing like that around here that I know of.

I don't do the reenactments but I do play with chain maille. I'm working on a hauberk when I have the time. I made a jig for making coils fast and easy. I'm using a basic 4-1 box weave. I play with some of the more advanced weaves but only to learn the pattern. I want to finish the hauberk before I start another project.

Howdy all... Thought I would let everyone know that I am still kicking and I will try to log on more often.

We miss ya here but we understand life comes first sometimes.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
