Basketball hoop winder-up tool?

I came across this the other day. It's for winding up and out of the way basketball hoops in school gyms. I'm trying to decide if it's good for anything else. It's got about a 3/4" drive.

If it has a lot of torque, it could be used as an impact tool.

Isn't the speed pretty slow?  Its sitting on a great rag bucket.  Every shop needs one of those!

A boat lift crank could be modified to accept that tool. But then you would need a power outlet nearby.

If it is high torque/low speed, then would make for a dandy square picket twister for blacksmith use!!

I was thinking put a form in it and make eye bolts from rod, but I suspect it doesn't go that slowly....

If you are feeling kind, there may be a local school that needs one...they aren't cheap, and it makes the most sense to use it for it's intended use....

Or look for an old basketball hoop and swipe the winch assembly off it and you have a nice electric come-a-long -P

Or build the worlds slowest electric go cart...the fact you have to plug it in won't matter, it will take 3 hours to reach the end of the extension cord...

If its slow enough it would make a nice rotisserie motor if you do whole pigs on the bbq.
