Picked this up at the flea market yesterday.  Anyone know anything about it?  Is it home made or some school project?  Was it once another tool that becaame a screwdriver after being broken?  My questions arise because of how short the handle is.  Would a tool company make something with such a short handle? No makers marks.

My Guess is it looks like a driver whereas the handle has been broken and cleaned off
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

My guess is either a shop class project or a slaveged screwdriver from something else or a larger screwdrive. Havent seen the grooves like that on other scewdrivers that are all metal. Either way its not a bad piece.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

ditto, the fine grooves were to keep the plastic handle it originally had from spinning on the shaft, look at the ferrule (like) area, it is designed to back up the bottom end of a larger handle...

I would still keep it tho, I used to have a set of screwdrivers with short thin handles for turning adjusting screws, sometimes a lot of torque is NOT a good thing ;P

PS: Hammering on plastic handles on screwdrivers where the steel shaft is short inside the handle tends to split the handle right down the middle....
PPS: Don't ask how I know that....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
